Since its incorporation in 1989 through 2025, the NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF) has awarded over $211,500 in fellowships to 179 NYS women who were working toward a Master’s or a Doctorate at an accredited New York State college or university.
Fellowships are awarded annually for graduate study to qualified women. In the Spring of 2026 GLEF will award four Fellowships of $2000 each.

They must be a resident of New York State, have a Bachelor's degree, be currently enrolled (and have already completed at least one semester) in an advanced graduate degree program at an accredited New York State college or university, show evidence of scholastic ability and a need for financial assistance, and anticipate graduation no later than 2026.
The 2026 Fellowship Application is now available for download at the GLEF website in either MSWord or PDF formats. Further information about supplemental materials, deadlines, and the application process may be found there as well.
The completed application and all ancillary material must be mailed to the Fellowship Chair and postmarked no later than February 28, 2026.
