2024 Special Grant Application Packets are now available

The NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund is pleased to announce that the appliction packets for the 2024 Special Grant program are now available on its website. The Special Grant program was started in 2004 to provide assistance to organizations wishing to sponsor educational or research opportunities to further the advancement of working women. Since the inception of the program, fifteen Special Grants have been awarded. Requests may range from $100, but may not exceed the total funds available ($500). Completed applications must be received by March 31, 2024 and winners will be announced in May 2024. Further details can be found at https://www.gracelegendre.org/Grants

Application forms for 2024 GLEF Fellowships for Graduate Study in NYS are now available.

The Application form for the 2024 Grace Legendre Endowment Fund Fellowship Program is now available for download at the GLEF website or from the Fellowship Chair. Four Fellowships will be awarded in the Spring of 2022: one award of $2000 and three of $1500. Applications are welcomed from women who are United States citizens, resident in New York State, have a Bachelor degree, and are currently enrolled (and have already completed at least one semester) in an advanced graduate degree program at an accredited New York State college or university, show evidence of scholastic ability and a need for financial assistance, and will complete their studies no later than 2026. Completed applications and supplemental material must be submitted by February 28, 2024.

Since its incorporation in 1989 through 2023, the NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF) has awarded over $198,500 in fellowships to 171 NYS women who were working toward a Master’s or a Doctorate at an accredited New York State college or university. Fellowships are awarded annually for graduate study to qualified women. In the Spring of 2024 GLEF will award four Fellowships, one for $2000 and three for $1500.

Individuals who wish to be considered for a GLEF Fellowship must be a woman who is a United States citizen, a resident of New York State, have a Bachelor's degree, be currently enrolled (and have already completed at least one semester) in an advanced graduate degree program at an accredited New York State college or university, show evidence of scholastic ability and a need for financial assistance, and anticipate graduation no later than 2024. The 2024 Fellowship Application is now available for download at the GLEF website in either MSWord or PDF formats. Further information about supplemental materials, deadlines, and the application process may be found there as well. The completed application and all ancillary material must be mailed to the Fellowship Chair and postmarked no later than February 28,2024.

The Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund 2023 Fellowship Awardees

We are pleased to announce the names of the recipients of the 2023 Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Fellowships for graduate study: Ellis Bella Adin (Master of Social Work, New York University), Jennifer Aghavian (Master of Social Work, New York University), Jassette Nava-Herrera (Master of Arts, City University of New York) and Tiffany Victoria Marray (Master of Arts, City University of New York).
 A total of $6,500 in Fellowship Awards were presented to them to supplement education costs for the 2023-24 academic year. Through 2023, over $198,500 in GLEF Fellowship grants have been awarded to 171 women.

The Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund (GLEF) is delighted to announce the inaugural issue of our Newsletter. This issue highlights this year’s Awardees as well as ‘what are you doing now?’ updates from some of our past recipients. We are grateful to Robin Bridson, the Editor of the Newsletter and to Elsie Dedrick, the immediate past-GLEF President and current Alumni Committee Chair.
