2026 NY GLEF Fellowship Awardfs Announced

The NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF) is pleased to announce the four winners of our 2026 Fellowships: Michaela Daniel, Masters in Global Affairs, New York University; Natalie Turner, Masters in Mental Health Counseling, Baruch College; Mereena Jolly, DO Psychiatry, NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine; Valerie Hernandez, Masters in Event Management, New York University..

The NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF) is pleased to announce the four winners of our 2026 Fellowships:

  • Michaela Daniel, Masters in Global Affairs, New York University
  • Natalie Turner, Masters in Mental Health Counseling, Baruch College
  • Mereena Jolly,  DO Psychiatry, NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Valerie Hernandez, Masters in Event Management, New York University

Each will receive a sum of two thousand dollars ($2000) to supplement education costs for the 2026-27 academic year.

Since its incorporation in 1989 through 2026, the NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF), has awarded over $219,500 in fellowships to 179 NYS women. Of these, one hundred twenty-two were working toward a Master’s and fifty-seven toward a doctorate. They were enrolled in sixty-two different fields of graduate study. Applications for the 2027 Fellowship Awards will be available in Fall 2026. Four Fellowships of $2000 each will be awarded to supplement education costs for the 2027-28 academic year.

Application forms for 2026 GLEF Fellowships for Graduate Study in NYS are now available.

The Application form for the 2026 Grace Legendre Endowment Fund Fellowship Program is now available for download at the GLEF website or from the Fellowship Chair. Four Fellowships of two thousand dollars ($2000) each will be awarded in the Spring of 2026. Applications are welcomed from women who are either United States citizens, a current holder of a Green Card or have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status. They must be a resident of New York State, have a Bachelor degree, and be currently enrolled (and have already completed at least one semester) in an advanced graduate degree program at an accredited New York State college or university, show evidence of scholastic ability and a need for financial assistance, and will complete their studies no later than 2028. Completed applications and supplemental material must be submitted by February 28, 2026.
