Application forms for 2022 GLEF Fellowships for Graduate Study in NYS are now available

Fellowship Program is now available for download at the GLEF website or from the Fellowship Chair. Four Fellowships will be awarded in the Spring of 2022: one award of $2000, two of $1500, and one of $1000. Applications are welcomed from women who are United States citizens, resident in New York State, have a Bachelor's degree, and are currently enrolled (and have already completed at least one semester) in an advanced graduate degree program at an accredited New York State college or university, show evidence of scholastic ability and a need for financial assistance, and will complete their studies no later than 2024. Completed applications and supplemental material must be submitted by February 28, 2022.

Newsletter from the Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund

The Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund (GLEF) is delighted to announce the inaugural issue of our Newsletter. This issue highlights this year’s Awardees as well as ‘what are you doing now?’ updates from some of our past recipients. We are grateful to Robin Bridson, the Editor of the Newsletter and to Elsie Dedrick, the immediate past-GLEF President and current Alumni Committee Chair. The Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund announces winners of the 2021 Special Grant Awards

We are pleased to announce that the River Campus Libraries of the University of Rochester have been awarded a Special Grant of $500 in support of the digitization of Louise M. Slaughter Congressional Archive. In addition, NYS Women Inc. has been awarded a Special Grant of $250 in partial support of a workshop to be presented at their 12th Annual Conference in Waterloo, NY.

The Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund announces 2021 Fellowship Awardees

We are pleased to announce the names of the recipients of the 2021 Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Fellowships for graduate study: Cassandra Rampino, Master of Social Work, New York University, Silver School of Social Work; Shannon Poulose, M.D., City University of New York School of Medicine; Jamila Thompson, Master of Science, Construction Administration, Columbia University; Kimberly Corrie, Masters in Psychiatric Social Work, University of Buffalo. A total of $6,000 in Fellowship Awards were presented to them to supplement education costs for the 2021-22 academic year. Through 2021, over $186,000 in GLEF Fellowship grants have been awarded to 162 women.

We are pleased to announce the names of the recipients of the 2020 Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Fellowships for graduate study:

Margarita Valkovskaya, Master of Public Administration, Maxwell School, Syracuse University

Elaina Jean Mansley, Juris Doctor (JD), Brooklyn Law School

Madeline Collins, Master of Science, Social Work, Columbia University

Each Fellowship is in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2000).
